THE COMPANY
In operation since January 1989 Polibutenos S.A. Indústrias Químicas was originally designed to produce 12.000 ton/y of 2 different grades of polibutenes - PIB 24 and PIB 32, using Chevron Chemical ( USA ) technology. Oriented to totally supply domestic market, nowadays has a production capacity of about 18.000 ton/y of more than 20 different polybutenes grades

The Company is a joint-venture among
UNIPAR- União de
Indústrias Petroquímicas S.A.,
PQU - Petroquímica União S.A.
and Chevron
Oronite Brasil Ltda where each one holds one third of its shares
LOCATIZATION
The plant was installed inside Petroquímica União (PQU)
complex in the City of Mauá, São Paulo state. PQU is
responsible for supplying of raw material and all necessary
utilities for operation.
This site is located 50 km away from Santos Port, the
biggest port of Latin America, to which is connected
by express ways.
PLANT CAPACITY
Nowadays the plant is able to produce up to 18.000 t/y of
several polybutenes grades with molecular weight ranging from
300 to 4.500 Daltons.
The company has a very well qualified group of employees with
large industrial experience and solid technical knowledge.
The company is managed by the best administrative, financial
and commercial practices, taking in consideration technological
improvement, personnel training up-date, environment consideration,
security and safe.
